hot Lightning camera's shot

1. So now the people that love the hot should be happy. July18 was HOTHOTHOT. I am not one of those people who like it THAT hot...I felt hotter than 103..it was a day of walk and sweat.tuesday96°FPartly Cloudy Feels Like:103°FHumidity: 43%Wind: WSW at 11 mph
2. Last night around 11pm the storm started to roll into boston. I was walking home, so I walked
up to a tufts university spot that overlooks part of the campus and has a good view of the city.
I watched some cool lightning and heard rumbling thunder.
My camera caught some lightning too.

overhearing iPOD's standardized timewarp

1. I finally had my date with the REAL GMAT…I feel I’ve been normalized, standardized, and whitewashed!…and in the end, I am “average”; my score is 490—before scoring of essays. Is that enough to get into Stanford? Oh well, I talked with a friend who had done an MBA a while ago and she said “oh don’t worry, gmat scores are only part of the package!”..that makes me feel a little>> better..what a process. I guess there are people out there who really think that way…I appreciate them, I am not one of them and that’s fine with me.

2. I overheard someone say recently, “I know more married couples of the same sex than opposite.” Wow…that was very interesting to me…that must be a “different world/mindset” to be in…to have friends like that…I don’t more same-sex couples than opposite sex couples.

3. Yesterday the subway car had a lot of lights out…I love this, because as we flew along on the tracks down the dark tunnel, with only the small lights on the subway wall, I felt like I was in a time warp..it was cool!

4. I overheard someone else say recently, “a friend’s phone…had an MP3 player, digital camera, video camera, and held 600 songs..” how long before that little black box that does whatever I want and costs whatever I got?…isn’t that a song?A little girl on the subway said “how come we don’t get seat belts?” I just smiled.

numb kitties

I love that numb feeling my brain has after a good hard workout. It’s better than being numbed from alcohol or psyched out on drugs. Bike-run-swim…hmmm..like a mini mini triathlon. I’m also trying to get some plyometrics into my routine and some new weights sets. I love the ymca! Oh and a good work out also makes me more acutely of aware of other sensations;0 I walked outside to the T, while it was raining softly…just what I needed. Opening the door at home to be greeted by a kitty cat, whose purring seemed to indicate she was happy to see me.

tongue of the hours knows capital

1. One thing I’m observing—especially in boston—is there seems to be less money for nonprofits—cuts here and cuts there—and too much money in venture capital (recent article in Boston globe). Both camps are frustrated. I propose that venture capital relax its grip on getting a “profit” and invest some of the “real” money in “community profit.” It might just reap some real profit, although that might take longer than venture caps want to wait.

2. I watched “the hours” a few nights ago with my housemates. What a whacked movie! Here are some notes:
--The history of a moment
--“Why is everything wrong?”
--It’s going to be OK. Of course it is.
--“the doctors”
--we need space to break.
--“what were you thinking?”
--there are times you don’t belong and you want to kill yourself.
--“when you have no choice”
--to look life in the face and know it for what it is. And then to put it away.
--Little kids see and hear everything!

3. We were having a bbq…and I think we had a little too much to drink. Tongue anyone?
